Artist statement and teaching philosophy
“I have been performing for over 30 years and am well versed in popular rock, Top 40, blues, funk, dance, reggae, and intro jazz. I have a fun approach to learning the fundamentals, and often add an element of entertainment/humor to my lessons. I’m great at teaching students by ear, and helping them to develop their musical ear. As a teacher, I encourage my students to bring in songs that they are interested in learning. I also advocate bringing in a tape to record their lessons (it helps with home practice sessions). I look forward to helping my students realize their musical goals.”
