This class will introduce or extend middle school students’ stage experience, using musical theater as its core foundation. Whether you want to become a musical theater “triple threat” or just a stronger actor, Stagecraft will help you improve your skills in acting, movement and the use of your voice. The first hour of class is spent weaving together the tools of stage terminology, improvisation, history, movement and solo/duet vocals with empowered confidence. For the second half of class, actors will work on pieces in preparation for their end-of-term performance where they demonstrate their skills for friends and family.
The Fall 2015 term of Stagecraft includes admission to a performance of The Shedd's December 2015 production of Irving Berlin's White Christmas, which will feature many of the instructors and coaches with whom the students will have studied during the term.
