Michael Anderson and Alice Blankenship are joined by Sergei Teleshev on accordion and Sean Peterson on bass for an intriguing evening of dance-based pieces, including Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5 (1869), three of Witold Lutoslawski's Dance Preludes (1954), Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances (1915), Astor Piazzolla's Libertango (1974) and Oblivion (1982), Dmitri Shostakovich's Waltz No. 2 (1956), a set of traditional Scandinavian folk dances, and more.
This concert is eligible for The Shedd's Free Shedd Classical Tickets for Youth program, which makes a free ticket to select 2020-21 Shedd classical concerts available to students high school and younger. The program is made possible by a support from Shedd benefactors dedicated to exposing young people to jazz in all its forms. Contact The Shedd Ticket Office for information. Usually, Youth high school and younger received a 25-50% discount on most Shedd shows. College students w/ current student ID receive a 10% discount.
