Georg Friederich Handel’s first major commission for the British Royal family after settling permanently in London in 1712 was a two-part sacred choral piece celebrating the Peace of Utrecht in 1713 which heralded the end of the 15 year War of the Spanish Succession. The Shedd Choral Society presents the 2nd part: Jubilate Deo (Psalm 100), HWV 279.
