Sarah B. Rose is a vocalist, composer, pianist and educator from Eugene, Oregon. She studied classical, musical theatre and jazz with Siri Vik and Vicki Brabham at Lane Communify College before transferring to Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle to focus on jazz voice and composition. In Seattle she studied with jazz vocalist Johnaye Kendrick, pianist/composer Dawn Clement and pianist/composer Jovino Santos Neto. She has recently graduated cun laude from Cornish with a Bachelors of Music. Sarah is a jazz interpreter of the Great American songbook, but also has a passion for writing original material. She will be recording an album later this year. Rose has also one the Downbeat Music Award twice for “best pop/blues vocalist” of the year. Sarah currently lives in Eugene, where she is performing, as well as teaching private and group voice, piano and composition lessons. Rose will be offering a songwriting workshop at the WOW Hall this fall, and will be teaching a vocal jazz workshop. Sarah will also be studying sound healing, due to her interest in music therapy.
