This class has been specially designed for aspiring vocalists to audition for a special role or who want to enter a competition such as the NAACP’s annual ACT-SO contest for high schoolers. Students will learn to choose appropriate material for their competition and their vocal range; develop good singing technique (breathing, posture, relaxation, pitch accuracy); how to “sell a song”; sing with or without a microphone; and develop a strong stage presence. Students will sing solos in front of each other, practice on the stage, and present an end of term showcase.
