Artist statement and teaching philosophy
"Playing a beautiful instrument is one of the most enjoyable things in my life, whether it is performing with others or improvising alone by the river. I am thrilled to open up that opportunity to others. In our lessons, I focus on the fundamentals of good technique and musical understanding, and I supplement the fundamentals with beautiful music, including lots of duets, so that students are accustomed to playing with others. Students are exposed to a variety of styles of music in order to have a diverse experience. My goal is for my students to have a strong foundation for whatever direction they choose to go, so they can have a lifelong love of performing."
