Glenn Griffith and The Jazz Kings open the Jazz Kings’ 2022-23 season with a trip down memory lane with four luminaries from the golden age of swing: Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, and Tommy Dorsey. Starting in the 1930s, the “swing” craze swept the U.S., Europe and the rest of the world with its energetic rhythms and tunes. These four star personalities, each with their own distinct sounding bands and unique vocalist, were among the greatest of the big band leaders. Look for classics like “Well, Git It”, Opus One”, “Woodchopper’s Ball”, “Apple Honey”, “Let’s Dance”, “Stompin’ At The Savoy”, “Sing, Sing, Sing”, “Moonlight Serenade”, “String of Pearls”, “In The Mood”, and more.
