The March 10 Edgar Meyer Master Class will follow the traditional master class format where 3 to 4 bassists will perform for Mr. Meyer and receive feedback in front of an audience.
The Shedd Institute is taking applications from those interested in performing at the master class. Applicants should submit an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that includes your name, the city you are from, your teacher, your school/professional affiliation, and the piece you propose to play for Mr. Meyer, with an MP3 recording of that piece attached. The application deadline for performers is Friday, March 6, and those selected to perform through the jury process will be notified via email by Sunday, March 8.
The auditor fee for master class is $15. Students get in free through a grant from the University of Oregon School of Music Bass Studio.
