Bruce Heldt

Bruce grew up in Chicago, earned degrees in psychology and law, became a CPA, then moved to Eugene to play piano for a year and never left. Later he was accepted into a post-bac program at the U of O in piano and composition, but instead apprenticed a year at Sokol Blosser vineyards to research the viability of starting a winery with a friend. Eventually he returned to CPA work, met his wife, raised two children, and became Managing Partner of Isler CPA until his retirement in 2016.
Bruce is proud of the People, Planet, & Profits business model adopted by Isler during his tenure, as well as the numerous awards Isler received in recognition of its employee, community, and planet friendly business practices. Recognizing the importance of The Shedd to our community, and seeing an opportunity to further Isler’s business model while providing employees with an enjoyable way to develop client relationships, Isler became the long-time sponsor of The Shedd’s Now Hear This concert series.
Bruce has been a supporter of The Shedd since the beginning. He was impressed by the boldness and fiscal responsibility of asking for five year pledges from donors before the first concert had been performed. He pledged then and has remained a Five Year Steward to this day.
Bruce has extensive experience volunteering with numerous community organizations, including five other arts organizations. His retirement plans always included service on The Shedd Board, saving the best for last.
