The Age of Musical Comedy (roughly 1920-1943), is rich with vibrant characters and show stopping tunes! Students will learn songs and monologues from some of the classics from the period of Good News!, Show Boat!, Anything Goes and No, No Nanette. Possible songs include “Anything Goes”, “Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man”, “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “’S Wonderful”, and “Tea For Two” and more!

At the Musical Theatre Sampler Camp, each student receives a “tool kit” of songs and monologues from which to draw for auditions and performances. Each day begins with a physical and vocal warm up, followed by learning songs and monologues according to the week’s theme. Each student will learn and perform one group song, one gender-appropriate group song, one solo song and two monologues. Students will also learn from “master performers” in listening and viewing sessions. Each camp culminates in a dress rehearsal and final performance of all music and acting studied during the week.
