TIM CLARKE. Upon hitting the Western New York jazz scene in 2007, trumpeter and Eugene native Tim Clarke was immediately embraced by the music community and fans as the region’s favorite jazz trumpeter. As one of the busiest performers in the area, Tim delights his loyal fans with expressive, emotion-packed solos and melodic interpretations that are both highly personal yet influenced by the jazz greats of years past. Recently voted “Outstanding Jazz Trumpet Player” in the JazzBuffalo Reader’s and Fan Poll, he is particularly known for his work within the “Chicago-style” genre of jazz, and performs regularly with several traditional jazz groups at saloons, jazz societies, festivals and special events throughout Western New York. Concurrently, Tim holds the position of Principal Audio Engineer at Fisher-Price, Inc., where he has been the primary creative force behind the music and audio design for the global, highly successful Laugh and Learn™ line of toys. Since winning the position at Fisher-Price in 2007, he has contributed to hundreds of successful, award-winning toys, commercials, webisodes, music videos, and live musicals. His music is enjoyed every day by millions of children around the world in over twenty different languages. In addition to his performances in the traditional jazz genre, Tim works regularly in contemporary jazz groups and contemporary ensembles alongside award-winning musicians such as Bobby Militello (Dave Brubeck Quartet and Maynard Fergusen), Bruce Johnstone (Woody Herman and Maynard Fergusen), George Caldwell (Grammy-winning pianist for Count Basie and Duke Ellington Orchestras), and Jon Nelson (Meridian Arts Ensemble).
